Woman arrested on suspicion of murder after death of OAP

A woman has been arrested following the death of a man in Lowestoft yesterday evening, Wednesday 19th November.

Officers were called by a member of the public at around 8:50pm on Wednesday to an address in Kirkley Run, Lowestoft.

On arrival at the property, an elderly man, believed to be in his 80s, was discovered with serious injuries.  Paramedics attended the address and treated the man, but he sadly died at the scene.

The death is being treated as suspicious and a 52-year-old woman from Lowestoft has been arrested on suspicion of murder.  She was arrested at the scene and has been taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where she is currently being interviewed by detectives.

A cordon is in place at the property whilst officers carry out an investigation.

Please note that vehicular access to Kirkley Run is currently restricted.  It is currently a no through route, with access to Kirkley Run from Edgerton Road, Waveney Road, and Victoria Road limited to residents and users of the school and service station only.   There is no vehicular access from Long Road into Kirkley Run.

These restrictions are expected to be in place until later today, Thursday 20th November.
