Witness appeal to booking office burglary at Stockport

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for help from the public to track down three people who broke into a booking office causing damage and stealing cash.

The incident happened at Bredbury Station in Stockport in the early hours of Friday, 24 October, sometime between 12.35am and 4.30am, when the group used tools to steal a safe from the Northern Rail ticket office.

Inspector Michelle Wedderburn said: “The burglars broke into a store room and smashed through a wall to gain access to the booking office before stealing the safe and its contents. If anyone has any information about the incident or might have witnessed anything suspicious we would urge them to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B4 of 07/11/14. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
