Update following burglary in Gateshead

Police are continuing to appeal for information after a burglary in Gateshead.

At around 9.20pm on Thursday, November 20, two men forced entry into a property on Ridgeway in Leam Lane and made off with a number of items.

The occupants were threatened and although shocked they weren’t injured in the incident.

Both men are described as being aged in their early 30s, one 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall of slim to medium build and wearing a blue/grey jacket with a Nike motif, dark bottoms and black gloves.

The other was 6ft tall, slightly bigger build that the first man, wearing a dark hooded top, dark bottoms and black gloves. It’s believed the men were in possession of weapons, one a firearm.

Both males had their faces covered with scarves or were wearing balaclavas.

A small blue car was seen moving quickly in the vicinity at the time of the incident, it’s ┬ánot clear if it’s connected, however police are keen to speak to anyone who saw it in the area.
