Police continue to investigate serious sexual assault in Barrow

November 4, 2014, 3:52 pm

Three people have been arrested in connection with the serious sexual assault in Barrow, all are on bail, and the investigation is ongoing.

The assault took place at James Dunn Park in Walney, Barrow, at around 2am.

Those arrested are all local men, aged 21, 21, and 45, and have been arrested on suspicion of rape.

DI David Stalker said:

“Although three men have been arrested this is still an active investigation and I would urge those who may have been in the area, or have any information, to come forward and give us any information they may have. No matter how trivial the information may seem it could be important for our investigation.

“This was a serious crime, and I urge the local community to help us with our ongoing investigation. The woman involved is being supported by specially trained professionals at this difficult time.”
