Man sentenced following Operation Weeting conviction

Man sentenced today, Friday 7 November, at the Old Bailey following Operation Weeting conviction.
Ian Edmondson [Weeting arrest B], 45 (14.02.69), a journalist of Raynes Park, SW20 pleaded guilty on 3 October to conspiracy to unlawfully intercept communications between October 2000 and August 2006.
He has been sentenced to eight months in prison.

Operation Weeting was launched in January 2011 led by a team of detectives from the Metropolitan Police Service’s Specialist Crime Directorate. Its purpose was to investigate allegations of phone hacking by News of the World staff.
