Man charged with burglary in North Tyneside

A man has been charged with a burglary in North Tyneside.

Matthew Mclellan, 40, of Vine Street in Wallsend, has been charged with burglary after a break-in to a house at Grange Close in Wallsend, which happened on November 6.

He is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on November 21.

The charged comes during Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling those suspected of being involved in theft and burglars across the force.

A key part of the operation is crime prevention advice and residents are reminded to lock doors and secure windows, use timer lights to come on as it gets dark and leave a light on if going out.
