Man arrested in connection with Coxheath bank robbery

Officers from Kent Police have arrested a 44 year old man in connection with a robbery at a bank in Maidstone.

Police were called at 11.25am on Monday 3 November to a report of a robbery at the Natwest bank in Heath Road, Coxheath.

It was reported a man entered the bank and threatened staff, demanding cash. No weapon was seen by witnesses in the bank.

The offender left the bank with a quantity of cash and left the scene in a vehicle parked nearby.

Officers carried out a number of enquiries and arrested a 44 year old man from Hythe on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.

Detectives investigating the report have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has not yet come forward with information, to contact them on 01622 604355.
