November 6, 2014, 2:30 pm

Crystal clear CCTV footage has been released after a man was assaulted outside a Dudley wine bar.

The 43-year-old had been drinking at Montys Wine Bar on the High Street in Sedgley and left at around 2am on Saturday 27 September.

As he was walking away from the bar he began talking to two men. CCTV shows the conversation turn into an argument and one of the men marched over and punched him, knocking him to the floor.

The attack was so severe he continues to need medical treatment for the injuries to his face.

PC Stewart Turner, from the forces Violent Crime Team, said: “I am sure someone will recognise the man in the CCTV and I would urge anyone who recognises him to call me or one of the team.

“As a result of the attack the man has received serious facial injuries and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to the man in the CCTV to do the right thing and come forward; we can then get his side of the story.”

Anyone with information is urged to call Dudleys Violent Crime Team on 101.
