CCTV released after theft in Northumberland

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they need to speak to after a report of a theft in Northumberland.

On September 24, a stolen cash card was used to withdraw cash at the Post Office at Boots in Beresford Road, Seaton Sluice. The cash card had been in a purse which was stolen from a woman’s bag at the British Heart Foundation shop at Regent Street in Blyth earlier the same day.

Police investigating have released a CCTV image of a man they need to speak to who they believe may be able to help with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 564 24/09/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The appeal comes during Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling thieves and burglars across the force and promoting crime prevention advice.
