Appeal following burglary at Watford bookmaker

Detectives investigating a burglary at a bookmaker in Watford are appealing for witnesses and information.

The incident happened at Coral in Market Street between 10.15pm on Tuesday, November 4 and 7.40am on Wednesday, November 5.

Between these times, the offender(s) entered the property by forcing open a fire door.

Once inside they stole a safe, which contained a large amount of cash, and left in an unknown direction.

Detective Constable Tanzeem Siddiqui, who is investigating, said: “I am appealing for anyone who has any information about this incident to contact me as soon as possible.

“I would particularly like to hear from people who saw anything or anyone suspicious in the area prior to or during these times.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Siddiqui via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C1/14/5210.
