Appeal after bike theft North Shields

Police are appealing for witnesses after a theft in North Shields.

Officers received a report of a white, Carrera Valour mountain bike having been stolen from the grounds of John Spence High School, North Shields, by a male who entered school grounds and stole the bike, replacing it with the one he had entered with.

The theft happened around 12.20pm on Tuesday, October 14.

The appeal comes during Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling opportunist thieves across the force area.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or who knows the whereabouts of the stolen bike is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 777 15/10/14 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
