Woman arrested following a fire at an address in Gateshead

A woman has been arrested following a fire at an address in Gateshead.

At just after 12pm, on Tuesday, October 14, police received a report of a fire at a home in Eskdale Gardens.

Officers attended the scene where the fire in a bedroom at the property had been extinguished. No-one was injured as a result of it.

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life. She is currently helping police with enquiries.
