Teenager charged after man assaulted in South Shields

A teenager has been charged in connection with an assault.

A 30-year-old man was assaulted in Stanhope Road in South Shields on Sunday October 12.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with wounding with intent and will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 864 121014 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
