British Transport Police need to speak to them urgently in connection with an incident which occurred at around 5.50pm on Saturday, 20 September, on board a train from New Brighton to Liverpool, where a teenager was verbally abused by a man believed to be carrying a firearm or an imitation firearm.

Anyone who recognises the men in the images is asked to get in touch.

Investigating officer PC Ian Williamson said: “Two men boarded a Liverpool bound train from New Brighton station and during the journey one of them verbally abused a teenager and lifted up his top to show what the victim believed to be a firearm. The men left the train at Birkenhead Conway Park Station.

“Whether this weapon was real or fake it nonetheless caused great alarm and distress to the victim.

“It is rarely that we see any incidents involving firearms on the railway, but anyone caught carrying a weapon on the railway network will be brought to justice.”
