Man charged after firearms recovered

A man has been charged after guns, ammunition and drugs were recovered from a house in south Manchester.

Officers executed a warrant at a house on Birdlip Drive, Newall Green, Wythenshawe, at about 8am on Saturday 18 October 2014.

A quantity of cocaine, a 9mm pistol, a sawn-off shotgun and a semi-automatic handgun were recovered.

Anthony Abbott (26/11/1980), of Birdlip Drive has been charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession with intent to supply cocaine.

He was due to appear at Manchester magistrates court this morning, Monday 20 October 2014.
