Four Burglars Sought after Linslade and Sharpenhoe burglaries

Bedfordshire Police are seeking four men who may have been involved in one burglary and another attempted burglary on Thursday 23 October in Linslade and Sharpenhoe.

In the first incident was at 2.30pm on Thursday 23 October when four men wearing balaclavas gained access to a house in Camberton Road, Linslade by forcing a UVPC window. They were scared away by the occupants of the house and made off down Cedars Way towards Wing Road.

One offender wore a brown coloured baseball cap, beige jacket and was of burly build. The other males had darker coats, jeans, sweatshirts and grey balaclavas, one had grey/blue eyes.

The second incident occurred at around 4.30pm on the same day when four men forced a window of a house on Harlington Road, Sharpenhoe. At home was a 85 year old woman who tried to get help from her neighbour but was unable to raise he alarm. The men ransacked the house and left, in what could have been a black Mercedes C class with silver chrome around the windows.

Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain, investigating, said: “We are not sure if these incidents are linked but these could be the same men. In both cases while the men appeared polite and did not physically attack those they confronted in their homes, they did cause them a lot of distress and in the second incident undertook a messy search of the property and stole valuable jewellery.

“Id like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Camberton Road, Linslade at around 2.30pm and Harlington Road, Sharpehoe at around 4.30pm on Thursday 23 October and saw four men acting suspiciously or leaving in a vehicle.

“Id also like to ask people in the Linslade, Leighton Buzzard and Sharpenhoe areas to be extra vigilant and to make sure their front, rear and patio doors are locked, even when they are at home and that their windows are secured.”
