Detective convicted of harassment

James Petevinou, 47, (07.01.66), a serving Detective Constable in Stoke Newington has been convicted of one count of harassment and acquitted of another following a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ court on Thursday 30 October.

Petevinou was first arrested in February, following allegations of harassment on a woman during January and February. Petevinou was subsequently charged with one count of harassment on 10 June and convicted as above.

A second allegation of harrassment concerning an incident in 16 December 2013 was also investigated. Petevinou was aquitted of this charge at the hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ court yesterday, Thursday 30 October.

The officer remains suspended from duty.

He will be sentenced on Thursday 20 November.
