Appeal following an assault in Stafford

Officers from Stafford Borough Local Policing Team (LPT) are issuing an appeal following an assault in Stafford.

On Saturday 27 September at approximately 6pm, a man was assaulted, near to the shops at Burton Square.

Police are appealing for the unknown victim to come forward. He was assaulted on the green at the rear of the shops and is described as white, aged 30s to 50s, around 5ft 11in in height, medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a red top and was walking a small white dog. After the incident, he left in a car which is believed to be green with the rear window taped up.

A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man have been arrested and released on police bail in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing.

There will be an increased presence of patrols in the area and members of the public are urged to report nuisance youths and anti social behaviour by calling Staffordshire Police on 101.
