York man charged with wounding and assault following domestic incident

A York man has been charged following a domestic incident in York on Saturday night (9 March 2013).

The 27-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault. He has been remanded in custody to appear at York Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Monday 11 March 2013)

The man was arrested last night following a disturbance at a property in Burdyke Avenue, York in which a woman in her twenties sustained serious injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who heard or witnessed the disturbance at around 9pm on Saturday evening to contact them without delay.
