Wanted for robbery: Danny Gaughan

March 8, 2013, 2:56 pm

Detectives are appealing for help to find a Birmingham man who failed to appear at court to face a robbery charge.

Danny Gaughan was released on bail following his first appearance at Birmingham Magistrates Court in July 2012.

But he never returned for further court proceedings and officers have been trying to trace him ever since.

Gaughan is charged with assaulting a 38-year-old man on William Street in the Lee Bank area of Birmingham in the early hours of 10 May 2012.

He allegedly stole the victims wallet which contained cash and bank cards, as well as a packet of cigarettes.

His co-defendant, a 28-year-old man from Edgbaston, was jailed for four-and-a-half years on in November 2012.

Detective Constable Isobel Griffiths, from Birmingham Central police station, said: “Gaughan is facing a serious charge; we wont stop until weve found him and put him before the courts.

“I would urge anyone who knows where he may be or has any information that may help us has identify his whereabouts to come forward and speak to us.”
