Two men sentenced thanks to CCTV footage

Two men have been sentenced to prison following a police investigation into a double stabbing, which took place in Rotherham town centre last October.

Jack Hollingsworth, 18-years old from Sheffield, was sentenced on Thursday, 7 March, at Sheffield Crown Court to three years and eight months for section 18 and 20 assault.

Lewis Willis, 20-years-old from Rotherham was sentenced on Thursday, 7 March, at Sheffield Crown Court to a 12 month custodial sentence for affray.

Both men pleaded guilty on Thursday, 7 March to the offences.

Two male victims were stabbed in the early hours of Sunday, 14 October, 2012 and Hollingsworth and Willis fled the scene in a taxi.

With the use of CCTV footage, officers where able to track down the taxi driver and find out the address that the offenders had been taken to following the incident and make arrests.

Despite initial appearances that the wounds were life threatening, both victims have made a full recovery.
