Stabbing; Monkwick Avenue

Detectives in Colchester are investigating an incident in Monkwick Avenue, Colchester around 3.45pm yesterday (Monday, March 4) which resulted in two men, known to each other, receiving knife wounds.

A 41 year old man from Colchester received a number of wounds and was taken to hospital where he is described as stable and his injuries are not life threatening. The other man involved was located outside McCoys in Queensland Drive a short time later. He was arrested and then taken to hospital with a wound which is not life threatening and he is also described as stable. The 17 year old man comes from Braintree.

Dc Tim Harris from Colchester CID said: “I need to hear from any witnesses to the original incident in Monkwick Avenue who may have seen a vehicle nearby and also from anyone who was in Queensland Drive around the relevant time.

“We have not recovered any weapons despite a thorough police search of the area and would also ask the public to be on the look out and call us immediately should they spot anything.”
