POLICE investigating the deaths of an elderly mother and daughter whose bodies were found in a Kings Heath house last month have officially named them as Irene Sawyer and Kathleen Sawyer.
The pair were found dead in their Balaclava Road home on February 11 by police and fire crew who forced entry to the property after concerns had been raised by neighbours.
A post mortem has now confirmed that 95-year-old Irene died as a result of suffocation.

Daughter Kathleen, aged 64, died as a result of significant blood loss from a chest injury, however it remains unclear whether this was self inflicted or as a result of natural causes.
West Midlands Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths and the matter has now been referred to the coroner.
