Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery at Westcliff.   At around 12.40am on Friday March 1 at Fairfax Drive junction with Northview Drive, the victim was approached by three men who demanded his mobile phone.  The victim refused and ran away but the suspects chased the victim, caught him and punched and kicked him.   The suspects are described as white, aged 17 to 19, around 5ft 11ins tall.  One suspect was of an average build wearing a brown Adidas hoodie, the other was of a stocky build with short or shaven hair, wearing a black Adidas zip up hoodie.  Nothing was stolen. Investigating officer, Dc Mark Sawyer said: “The injuries could have been worse if it wasnt for his own family hearing his cries for help.  I am keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact Dc Mark Sawyer on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
