Police appeal for information following a robbery at a Rotherham bookmakers

Police investigating an alleged attempted robbery at Coral Bookmakers in Rotherham are appealing for information and for witnesses to come forward.
The alleged incident is believed to have occurred at around 1.40pm on Sunday, 10 March, 2013 at the premises on Oakes Lane, Kimberworth Park, Rotherham.

It is believed that two white males wearing dark clothing and black balaclavas, one being armed with a gun, entered the bookmakers and made demands to the employees to open the safe and the tills before stealing £790 and making their escape.

Police are looking for the two men. The first is described as being around  5ft 8ins and slim build with the second man being shorter and also of a slim build.  The handgun used is described as black with a 6/7” muzzle.

Anyone with any information or who believes they may have witnessed the alleged incident is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 832 of the 26 February, 2013. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
