Man arrested after newspaper delivery driver is injured after his van is stolen

A man has been arrested after a newspaper delivery driver was injured when his van was stolen during a delivery in Willenhall yesterday (1 March).
The victim, a 65-year-old man, is thought to have fallen to the ground whilst attempting to stop the Ford Transit van which was stolen from Castle Drive at around 1.05pm.
The driver was airlifted to hospital and is currently being treated for a head injury where his condition is described as serious but stable.

A 28-year-old Wolverhampton man was arrested on High Road in Willenhall at around 6pm last night (1 March) on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent. He currently remains in custody.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who saw the incident or saw the vehicle being driven away to contact them by calling Walsall CID on 101. Alternatively people can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers the independent charity on 0800 555 111.
