Lichfield pedestrian death – man charged

A 21-year-old motorist has been charged with causing the death of a pedestrian in Lichfield in December.
Stuart Blackwell, aged 40, of Manley Road, Lichfield, died following the collision on the A5127 Burton Road in Streethay at around 7.40am on Friday, 14 December.
Mr Blackwell was been walking the family dog Oscar at the time of the collision. Oscar also died.

The motorist, from Lichfield, was arrested on 14 December and charged yesterday, Thursday 7 March, with causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
He was released on bail to appear before magistrates in Burton on Thursday 21 March.
