Images released after ‘gun’ wielding man seen in city

March 5, 2013, 12:13 pm

Detectives have released CCTV images of two people they want to speak to after a man was seen carrying a firearm in Birmingham city centre.

Officers believe the two men pictured may have information that can help the investigation, launched after a man was seen chasing a group across a car park in Edgbaston Street wielding what appeared to be a hand gun.

No shots were fired and nobody was injured. It happened at around 7pm on 1 February.

Two women and a man have been arrested and bailed but officers are still keen to trace the two men pictured in the images.

Detective Constable Wayne Johnson, from Force CID, said: “This was a serious offence and we are appealing to anyone who can help us identify the two men pictured.

“It is unclear whether or not it was a real firearm or an imitation, but either way it could pose a threat to members of the public.

“If you have any information about who they are, please come forward and contact us.”
