CCTV Appeal – Attempted Robbery – Greenfield Lane – St Helens

March 5, 2013, 4:26 pm

Detectives have released a CCTV still of a man they want to speak to in relation to an attempted robbery outside a Tesco express store in St Helens last month in case he has information that could help their enquiries.

At about 8.45pm on Thursday 7 February, a man entered the store on Greenfield Lane, walked around and left without buying anything. As he left he approached another man outside the store threatened him and demanded money. The offender indicated he had a knife on his person although no weapon was seen.

The victim refused to hand money over and the offender left the scene on a mountain bike and headed in the direction of Hard Lane.

The victim was not injured but was left shaken following the incident.

An investigation into the full circumstances of the incident is ongoing and officers appeal to the man in the picture, or anyone who recognises him, to contact them as he may have information that could help them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police on 0151 777 6807 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
