Car crime in Heaton, Newcastle

March 12, 2013, 2:05 pm

Police are investigating after damages to cars in Newcastle.

Over the past two months, police have received reports of damages to vehicles in the area either side of Chillingham Road in South Heaton.

Overall there have been eight damages, and in some of these instances items – such as wheel trims and a roof rack – have been stolen. Police are urging residents to report anything suspicious to police.

Neighbourhood Inspector Louise Cass-Williams said: “We’re carrying out enquiries to trace those responsible for the damages and thefts, and there are additional patrols in the areas affected.

“I’d urge residents in the area to report anything suspicious they see in the area – particularly overnight – to police at the earliest opportunity so we can investigate. This includes any people or vehicles which look out of place.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously onĀ 0800 555 111.
