Assault inside Sunderland house

A man and woman have been arrested after an assault inside a house in Sunderland.

At 9.40pm on Wednesday, March 6, a report was received that a 30-year-old man had been assaulted inside a house at Dalton Place. He suffered a laceration to his face and was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment.

Officers attended and arrested a 33-year-old man and 23-year-old woman in connection with the incident, they are currently in custody helping with enquiries. It’s not believed this was a random assault.

Police are keen to hear from any witnesses, particularly anyone who saw a silver vehicle outside the address around the time of the assault.
