Appeal three years on from murder

March 13, 2013, 7:30 am

Detectives have launched a fresh appeal for help and information three years after the murder of a man in Lewisham.

A reward of up to £20,000 remains on offer for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the killing of 56-year old Abdel Salam Hassan Abdel Salam.

At about 07:10hrs on Saturday 13 March 2010, a neighbour noticed the front door open at an address in Boone Street SE13.

Just inside the door lay the body of the victim.

Police and the ambulance service attended but Mr Abdel Salam was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as blood loss from a stab wound to the leg.

An incident room remains open at the Homicide and Serious Crime Command and extensive enquiries have been carried out over the last three years.

Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn said: “It has now been three years since the murder of Abdel Salam. We have always believed the answer to this crime lies within the local community and someone out there has information that could greatly assist our enquiries. Please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4805; if you wish to remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
