Images released after victim fights off robbers

A MAN fought off two robbers as they attacked him after he used a cash machine in Birmingham.
Detectives have released images of two suspects they want to speak to in connection with the attempted robbery that happened just after midnight on Monday 14 January.
The 56-year-old victim had used a cash machine outside the Post Office in Slade Road and was hit on the head from behind as he walked towards the junction with St Thomas Road.

Two people then searched through his pockets but he managed to punch one of them and chase them off. They were last seen walking towards Reservoir Road.
Detective Constable Elaine Higgs, from Sutton Coldfield CID, said: “This was a nasty attack where the victim was assaulted from behind and was fortunate to not be more seriously injured.
“He bravely fought off the robbers and managed to keep hold of his possessions in the process.
“We are appealing to anyone who recognises the two people in the images to come forward and contact us. Someone out there must have information about who they are.”
