Woman robbed in Royton

A woman was robbed in a car park in Royton.
At around 7.40pm on Thursday 7 February 2013, the victim returned to her car which was parked in Royton Precinct on Rochdale Road.
As she got into her car, she was confronted by a man who had climbed into the passenger seat and tried to steal her handbag. During the struggle the woman was punched in the face causing minor facial injuries. The man took a purse from the handbag and left.

Police have now released an e-fit image of the offender to help identify him.
He is described as white, aged around 17-18 years old, approximately 5ft 10in tall and slim. He is described as having a long pointy nose and dark bushy eyebrows. He also had a pale complexion. He was wearing a black bobble hat with a red rim all the way round it, a black hooded top with toggles and dark jeans.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who recognises the image of the offender to come forward.
PC Jamie Smart said: “The woman is obviously very shaken by this and we are keen to identify the offender. We would ask anyone who recognises the man to get in touch. Alternatively, if you were in the area at the time and saw someone fitting the description please call us.”
