Teen assaulted after night out

February 18, 2013, 1:08 pm

A man was assaulted by a group as he walked home from a night out in Kingswood.

At 3.30am yesterday (Sunday February 17) the victim left Chasers and walked along Regent Street and High Street towards Warmley. As he reached the junction with Park Road he saw a group of ten people wearing hooded tops. One person punched the victim while another tried to steal his mobile phone. The victim was able to get away before they took anything.

The matter was reported to us that day and an investigation is underway. We would like to hear from anyone else who was in the area and saw the group responsible for the incident. Three members of the group were seen to have bicycles with them.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or knows the people responsible should contact DC Tracey Ormand on 101. Alternatively, phone the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. They never ask your name or trace your call.
