Suspected cannabis factory found in industrial unit (Kingswood)

February 20, 2013, 2:31 pm

We joined South Gloucestershire Council, Avon Fire & Rescue, the Health & Safety Executive and the Environment Agency in a snap site inspection of units at the Bridge Road Industrial Estate, Kingswood today, Wednesday February 20.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Stephanie Green said: “We were there supporting our partner agencies in this action in response to the concerns of local residents, businesses and councillors about the site.

“During the inspection the fire and rescue service came across a unit which was being used to grow what we believe to be cannabis plants. We seized around 60 plants, all around four feet tall, along with growing equipment and lights.”

Concerns about the site had included possible failure to comply with fire safety, health and safety and environmental regulations.
