February 15, 2013, 2:16 pm

Police have released the image of a man wanted in connection with an assault in Stockport.

At around 2am on Sunday 28 October 2012, the 33-year-old victim tried to break up an altercation that was taking place on Commercial Road, Hazel Grove.

He was then set upon and knocked to the ground before his chest and head were stamped on.

A 21-year-old man, two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed until 4 March 2013.

Detective Constable Paul Chesworth from Stockport CID said: “I would ask anyone who may have been in the Commercial Road area at the time of the incident to get in touch.  If you recognise the image of the man, we are keen to hear from you.

“The clothes he was wearing are distinctive and we believe he was in fancy dress for Halloween.  Please take a good look at the image and if you know him, phone police.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 9755 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
