Man released with no further action in Operation Weeting

A man arrested by officers from Operation Weeting in connection with
alleged phone-hacking will face no further action following consultation
with the Crown Prosecution Service.

The 62-year-old man [Weeting arrest ‘G’] was arrested on 14 July 2011 on
suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications, contrary to Section
1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977. He had been due to return on bail to
a London police station next week.
