Fourteen year old boy stabbed in the Street

An investigation has been launched following a serious assault of a
teenager in Ladywell

Police were called at approximately 21.28hrs on Monday, 18 February to
reports of a stabbing in Dressington Avenue, SE4, where a 14-year-old
boy was found suffering from serious injuries.

Youth workers who were nearby at the time of the incident rushed to the
victim to assist providing him with emergency first aid prior to the
arrival of the London Ambulance Service.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to a south London hospital where he
remains in a critical but stable condition.

One male youth [A – 14 yrs ] was initially arrested in connection with
the incident by officers in the early hours of today, 19 February.

Two further male youths were also arrested in connection with the
incident [B – 14 yrs] and [C -15 yrs] today, 19 February, after
presenting themselves to a south London police station in the morning
and afternoon respectively.

All three are still in custody at a south London Police station.

Chief Superintendent Russell Nyman, Lewisham Borough Commander: “I am
committed to tackling the issues of serious youth violence and knife
crime in Lewisham. Currently knife crime and serious youth violence are
down in Lewisham but we are not complacent and we continue to work with
our partners to ensure Lewisham remains a safe borough.

“In response to yesterday’s incident we have made three arrests and we
have put extra resources in place in key locations across the borough,
in order to prevent any further offences from occurring. Patrols are
also taking place in order to reassure residents that Lewisham remains a
safe place.”
