Appeal for information after assault in Newcastle

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Newcastle.

The assault took place between 2.30am and 2.40am on Sunday, February 10, in the Groat Market when four men were standing talking outside Cosy Joe’s bar. They were approached by another group of men who assaulted them.

Two of the men received injuries that required hospital treatment.

One of the suspects is described as being in his 40s, of medium build with a shaven head and wearing a red jumper, a red shirt and jeans.

Anyone with any information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers onĀ 0800 555 111.
