Police are appealing for witnesses after officers were hurt in a collision with a taxi.

Shortly after 3am on Tuesday, 1 January 2013, a marked Ford Focus police car, with three officers inside, was responding to an emergency call and driving along Manchester Road, Walkden.

The third officer received a number of injuries including a suspected injury to his neck and is now receiving treatment.

In line with procedure the police driver has been suspended from driving duties while an investigation is carried out.
