Robbery – Crowthorne

December 6, 2012, 3:50 pm

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an incident at a building society in Crowthorne.

The incident happened at Nationwide, in High Street, between 6.40pm and 7.00pm yesterday (5/12).

Offenders smashed their way in to the building and then damaged an ATM machine. At this stage it does not appear that anything was stolen.

Det Sgt Peter Wall, from Maidenhead CID, said: “At this stage it appears that two men forced their way into the building society as security officials were filling the ATM machine.

“The security officials were able to activate smoke deterrents and consequently we believe that the offenders lefty empty handed.

“I know that there were a number of people in the area around the time of the incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour or anyone who saw the men leave the area in a dark coloured motor vehicle.”

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact Maidenhead CID via 101.
