Police praise excellent example of vigilance by elderly householder following bogus caller approach at house in Inverness

December 5, 2012, 4:00 pm

Police have received reports of potential bogus callers operating in the Inverness area.

One elderly resident reported a suspicious caller to Police, but instead of simply allowing them entry into their home the vigilant householder followed the correct procedure by questioning the caller credentials and seeking assistance from a neighbour rather than let a stranger into their home.

By the time the neighbour attended minutes later the caller had left the area.

Police are urging householders to follow this excellent example.

Police are urging householders to be vigilant and are highlighting the dangers of allowing unidentified callers into their homes. People should always check ID at the door and if you are in any doubt do not let them into your home.
