Cyclist is twice abused by passing motorist

December 5, 2012, 6:18 pm

A motorist threw a beer bottle at a cyclist as he was riding home.

The 27-year-old man was cycling along Nottingham Road, Risley, at around 3pm on Monday, December 3, when a man drove alongside him and threw a beer bottle at him. It struck him on the arm but he was not injured.

Officers are investigating whether the assault is linked to an incident in November where the same man was cycling along the same stretch when a motorist drove past him and shouted a racist insult at him.

The description of the vehicle was similar on both occasions. The car is described as looking like a black van-style taxi that would probably seat six to eight passengers.
