Assault – Burger King – Liverpool City Centre

Merseyside Police has released CCTV stills of a man detectives would like to speak to in connection with the assault of a man in Liverpool city centre in November.

At about 6.20am on Sunday, 4 November a report was received that a member of staff at Burger King on Ranelagh Street had been assaulted by a man who had then left the premises with another man and a woman in the direction of Lime Street station.

A patrol attended and a search of the area was undertaken that resulted in a 28-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of assault.

After being questioned the man was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

As a result of the assault the victim sustained facial injuries and required stitches for his lip.
T/Detective Constable Tony Meakins, said: “This was a nasty attack on a man who was just doing his job.
“We are determined to catch the person responsible. I would appeal for anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward and help our investigation.

“Community information is vital when investigating incidents of this type.”

Detectives are keen to trace the man pictured, as they believe he may have information that could help them with their investigation into this matter.
