Woman threatened at knifepoint during robbery – Salford

November 26, 2012, 1:39 pm

A 23-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint as she walked home in Salford.

The victim had just got off a bus between Victoria Road and Wilton Road at around 6.40pm on Wednesday 21 November 2012.

As she was walking and using her phone, she noticed two teenagers on bikes approach her and she moved into a nearby bus stop to allow them to pass.

The victim continued to walk up Eccles Old Road and turned left onto Wilton Road.  When she was near Timothy Close, she noticed two teenagers on bikes behind her.

One of them stopped in front of her, and the other offender demanded she gave him her phone before threatening her with a knife.

He then demanded money and when she said she did not have any, the knife was pointed towards her stomach.  She handed them her bag before they rode off with the mobile phone.

The first offender is described as being white, in his mid to late teens, of medium build, had short dark hair and was around 5ft 5in tall.  He wore a dark jacket, was riding a black BMX and spoke with a local accent.

The second is described as being white, in his mid to late teens, of medium build and was around 5ft 8in tall.  He wore a black balaclava, had dark eyebrows and dark eyes.

Detective Constable Justin Bryant from the Volume Crime Team said: “The victim was absolutely terrified and did not know what would happen if she did not give into their demands.

“Thankfully she was not hurt but she has been deeply affected by what happened that night.  If you witnessed the robbery or saw the two offenders on their bikes in the Eccles Old Road or Wilton Road area, I would ask you to contact police.”
