Woman assaulted in Falkirk

Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman was assaulted on the tow path close to Glenfuir Road, Falkirk.

The incident happened sometime between 9pm and 10pm on Saturday November 17 between Locks 16 and 14, close to the Rosebank Beefeater.

Police are keen to trace a man described as having a local accent, wearing a black puffa-style jacket and aged 40-50.

Detective Inspector David Mitchell said: “We are keen to trace anybody who was in the area of Glenfuir Road, in particular the canal path next to the Forth and Clyde Canal, on Saturday between 9pm and 11.00pm.

“We are seeking the support of members of the local community to help us with our enquiries and are confident that they will have valuable information which will assist us in identifying the person responsible.”
