Witness appeal after indecent exposure

November 26, 2012, 3:52 pm

Police have appealed for witnesses after a man indecently exposed himself at a street in Grays.

The incident happened in Rectory Road at the junction with Overcliff Road, at about 1.45am on Saturday November 24.

A woman in her 20s, who lives locally, was walking home when she was aware of someone following her. When she turned round she was confronted by a man who exposed himself before running away towards Dock Road.

The man was white, about 6ft tall and was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer Pc Claire Allen said: “We want to hear from any witnesses or from anyone who saw this man lurking in the area or running away.

“We would also like to hear from anyone else who has had a similar experience in the Grays area or has seen a man acting suspiciously but has not reported it for any reason.”

Anyone with information should contact Pc Allen at Grays Area Investigation Team on 101 Extension 360060.
