Warrants carried out in Prudhoe

November 28, 2012, 4:22 pm

Police have carried out three warrants in Northumberland as they continue to disrupt criminal activity in the county.

The warrants were carried out today, Wednesday November 28, at three addresses in Prudhoe as part of Operation Hugo which aims to tackle serious and organised crime in the area.

Last week, three people were arrested after raids were carried out at four addresses in Prudhoe and one in Greenside. One man has been charged with drugs offences, the other two have been bailed pending enquiries.

Prudhoe Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Balmer, said: “Today’s activity is part of our commitment to tackle organised crime and make our communities even safer places and this type of activity will continue. The raids were as a result of what our communities told us.

“It should act as a clear warning to those suspected of being involved in criminal behaviour that we know who they are and will take action against them.”

Anyone with any information about criminal activity in their area should contact Northumbria Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
