Wanted – Brian Brough, Bolton

November 14, 2012, 3:59 pm

Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted Bolton man.

Brian Brough (born 10/06/1986), who has connections to the Breightmet area of Bolton, was jailed in October 2008 for robbery and possession of a bladed article after threatening a shop security guard with a knife.

He was sentenced to five years and released in September 2012 with strict licence conditions.

However, he has since breached these conditions, namely fleeing the approved bail hostel he was staying at.

As well as Bolton, he has known connections in Tyldesley and Blackpool.

Police are now appealing to anyone who has information about Brough’s whereabouts to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jackson said: “Brough is a violent man and has previous convictions for violence, including another robbery with a weapon, and he is not to be approached by members of the public.

“If anybody has any information about him or his whereabouts then please contact GMP on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, onĀ 0800 555 111.

“I would like to remind people that should they be found to be assisting or harbouring this wanted man, they too will face being arrested and a possible prison sentence of their own.”
